A Revolutionary Reinvention of Anilox Ink Transfer

PCMC's Year in Review 2018

The company introduced many innovations that continue to help the flexpgraphic industry move forward

GREEN BAY, Wis. —Janaury 21, 2019— 2018 was an exciting year for Paper Converting Machine Company and the flexographic industry as a whole. Looking back at 2018, we introduced several new innovations that continue to help the flexographic industry move forward.

We started 2018 with introducing our new Meridian laser anilox cleaner. Applying information from printers, PCMC developed many enhancements on the Meridian laser anilox cleaner including:

  1. Patent pending laser cleaning technology
  2. Reduced energy consumption
  3. Faster cleaning cycles
  4. Longer laser life
  5. Improved auto-focus system
  6. Increased cleaning pattern uniformity
  7. Upgraded air extraction system
  8. Secure internet tunnel provisions for remote support
  9. Larger operator touch screen
  10. Enhanced, integrated LED push buttons

The Meridian received accolades as a finalist for the Label Industry Global Awards in the category of innovation. By the end of 2018, we’ve sold and successfully installed 25 machines throughout the United States and Canada, with several repeat orders from customers.

In late 2018, we started offering a new financing program for the Meridian, allowing our customers to upgrade to the latest technology sooner without waiting for their existing unit to need replacement. We have started a stocking program for 2019 with 10-12 week delivery times, and have several models on our floor that are always available for a cleaning demo.  We will also have a unit and live demos at the INFOFLEX show in New Orleans in May.

In August, we introduced our new SteadyPrint feature during the PCMC Impact Summit in Green Bay, Wisconsin. SteadyPrint is our enhanced anti-bounce functionality that monitors and reduces bounce attributes in real time. The first machines with SteadyPrint have been installed and we are receiving positive customer feedback and results with this new feature.

We have begun manufacturing on our 52” Fusion C. The new 52” model will offer our customers more flexibility in choosing the Fusion C that works best for their needs. The press will be available in late Spring for customer demonstrations.

Looking ahead to 2019, we have more innovations planned, as well as celebrating our company’s milestone 100th anniversary. We’ve had a lot of accomplishments and milestones in the past year, and we are excited for 2019, as we know we’re just getting started!
