Educational program debuts at Labelexpo Asia 2019

The organizer of Labelexpo Asia 2019 has unveiled the details of its very first educational program at the upcoming ninth edition of the show, taking place at Shanghai’s New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 3-6 December.

Two half-day sessions – a workshop and a master class – will take place. Led by the Label Academy, the global on-the-job education resource for the label and package printing industry, they will cover some of the most talked about topics in the industry today and feature speakers from leading international manufacturers.

A three-hour workshop covering shrink sleeve technology takes place on 4 December, from 10:00-13:00. Participants will learn the mechanics of the fast-growing shrink sleeve technology market and gain a clear understanding of the design and origination requirements and suitable shrinkable films. The different printing processes and how to select them, plus the latest converting technologies, specialized applications and  troubleshooting will also be covered. Representatives from Esko and Flint Group are among the speakers.

On 5 December, a four-hour master class will cover digital label and package printing. This takes place between 10:00-14:00. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the many processes involved in this complex area of the industry. Topics covered include the different technologies, the importance of pre-press and workflow automation, choosing the right substrates, different finishing options and hybrid technology. Representatives from Brotech, Cerm, Domino and Esko are among the speakers.

Lisa Milburn, managing director, Labelexpo Global Series, said: “We are delighted to offer a workshop and master class at Labelexpo Asia for the very first time. The Chinese label and package printing market is booming, so the appetite for on-the-job learning in the region has really exploded. With flexible packaging such a key focus for this year’s Labelexpo Asia, now is the perfect moment to bring our learning program here, which has proven extremely popular at our other shows around the world. This will help printers take advantage of the exciting opportunities currently in the market, and enhance their commercial viability, productivity and reputation for the long-term.”

Participants will be able to see in action what they learn during the master class at the Flexible Packaging Arena – also new for this year. The Flexible Packaging Arena is also conveniently located within the brand new Flexpack Asia area of the show which will display the latest flexible packaging technology.

Places on the workshop and master classes are limited, so early registration is strongly recommended. The price for either session, which also includes refreshments, is RMB1800. Full schedule and booking details are on the show website

Entry to Labelexpo Asia 2019 is free. Visitors should pre-register on the show website to receive their full exhibition pass.
